The College of Business Administration (COBA) at Texas A&M University-Central Texas welcomes highly qualified applicants to fill an immediate need for an Assistant Professor in Management / Leadership starting in Fall 2027. This is a tenure-track faculty position. Application reviews will begin immediately. We are looking for a dynamic and collegial teacher-scholar with a passion for teaching and a multi-faceted track record of excellence both within and beyond the classroom. This faculty member would be expected to teach leadership-related courses at a variety of levels and in a variety of modalities. Assigned courses will include undergraduate leadership and one or more of the following graduate courses: organization development and change (masters), cross-sector partnerships (masters), global leadership theory and practice (masters), leadership formation and development (masters), and any one of the in-development doctoral courses that would support our DBA leadership emphasis area (still pending final SACSCOC approval). Other courses may also be available on a limited basis depending on applicant qualifications and interest.
While this position is being advertised at the rank of Assistant Professor, we warmly welcome applications from candidates with distinguished records and broader experience. Depending on institutional needs and individual qualifications, consideration may be given for credit toward years of service and/or appointment at the rank of Associate Professor. Please note that tenure upon hire is possible but atypical and is determined on a case-by- case basis in consultation with the Provost.

A&M-Central Texas is located on the southern edge of Killeen, TX, a city of approximately 150,000 located about halfway between Austin and Waco-about 60 miles either way. Our faculty members enjoy a wide variety of living options by virtue of the culture in the area-from quiet and rural to bustling and cosmopolitan. It is an easy drive to great art, food, shopping, and night life as well as to hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping for those who prefer the outdoors. Central Texas is also a great place for families, with many options for schooling, worship, civic engagement, and recreation. It also has light traffic and a reasonable cost of living. The major metropolitan areas of Houston, Dallas‑Fort Worth, and San Antonio are all within a 3‑hour radius of Killeen.
The candidate will be expected to provide quality, engaging instruction for typically three courses per long term in a variety of course delivery formats (face-to-face, online, or hybrid), with fully online being the most in-demand option at present. Summer teaching opportunities may also available as dictated by student demand and department needs.
Some scholarly contributions are also required. The candidate is expected have sufficient scholarly and/or professional activities to have "scholarly academic" status upon arrival per AACSB faculty classifications, and to have a healthy pipeline of works in progress, where health is measured more by viability and impact than by volume.
