Qualifications

• PhD/ MFA in Dance or related field preferred.
• 1) Demonstrated ability to teach Latinx/e and Afro-Latinx/e dance forms.
• 2) Choreographic and performance experience in Latinx/e and Afro-Latinx/e contexts.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Latinx/e and Afro-Latinx/e dance forms and related praxis/theory/production; modes include in-person, hybrid, online.
• May be assigned other department courses within training and expertise.
• Advise/mentor part-time faculty; choreograph for department concerts and events.
• Recruit students and mentor graduate candidates and undergraduates; oversee theses when applicable.
• Produce scholarly or creative work commensurate with tenure expectations and contribute to departmental vitality.

Education

MFA or PhD in Dance, Performance Studies, or a related field

MA in Dance or related field with professional performance

Professional performance and/or choreographic experience in Latinx/e and Afro-Latinx/e dance forms
