Qualifications

• MFA or PhD in Dance, Performance Studies, or related field by Aug 1, 2027.
• MA in Dance with professional performance/choreographic experience in Latinx/e and/or Afro-Latinx/e.
• Professional performance and/or choreographic experience in Latinx/e and/or Afro-Latinx/e forms at various levels.
• Demonstrated ability to teach Latinx/e and/or Afro-Latinx/e dance forms.
• Ability to teach technical praxis courses: modern/contemporary, jazz, African, street, ballet.
• Commitment to working with a diverse student population.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate/graduate courses in Latinx/e and Afro-Latinx/e forms and praxis/theory as appropriate.
• May teach other department courses including general education.
• Assist with curriculum development in areas of expertise.
• Advise/mentor part-time faculty within the area of expertise.
• Choreograph for department concerts and direct events.
• Recruit students and mentor graduate candidates; supervise theses when needed.
• Produce scholarly/creative work for tenure and contribute to the department and university.
• Participate in service to department, college, university, and field.
