The School of Music at the University of Texas at San Antonio invites applicants for a full-time, fixed-term track faculty member in music theory.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate music theory/aural skills classes and participating in area meetings, committees, and other assigned service activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
Earned doctorate in music theory or music composition, ABD in either of those fields.
Demonstrated record of excellence teaching music theory and aural skills courses to undergraduate music majors at the university level.
This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UTSA and its infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications:
Teaching experience, goals, and approaches that meet the needs of students at varying levels of musical proficiency.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a shared music theory/aural skills curriculum.
Awareness of and interest in current trends in the field of music theory pedagogy.
SALARY
Up to $40,000- $42,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.
