Job summary

The Belk College of Business at UNC Charlotte invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Finance. Teaching will span undergraduate and graduate levels with a mix of face-to-face, hybrid, and online delivery.

We seek candidates with a strong research agenda and excellence in teaching, with preference for investment-related areas. Responsibilities include research, teaching, and service to the university and profession, plus mentoring PhD students.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in finance or closely related field from an accredited university.
• Strong research potential and an active research agenda.
• Research and teaching interests in all areas of finance.
• Preference will be given to candidates in investment-related areas (household finance, asset pricing/management, retirement, etc.).
• Evidence of, or strong potential for, excellent teaching skills at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
• Willingness and ability to mentor Ph.D. students and supervise their research.
• Communication and relationship-building skills in working with a diverse group of students, faculty, alumni, and the local business community.
• Ability and willingness to represent the Belk College to the Charlotte regional business community.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and publish in finance.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses; may include face-to-face, hybrid, and online deliveries.
• Advise and mentor students; supervise research projects.
• Engage in service to the university, public, and the profession.
