Northwestern University’s School of Communication invites applications for an Assistant Professor in film and media production. The position is 100% in person on the Evanston campus in the Chicago area, tenure-eligible, nine months paid over twelve, with a start date of September 1, 2027.

Candidates should have a terminal degree or equivalent industry experience; the candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate production courses, mentor student theses, and contribute to curriculum

Qualifications

• Terminal degree appropriate to the field, i.e. MFA in film and media production, or equivalent industry experience

Responsibilities

• Research and creative work in the area of film and media production
• Undergraduate and graduate student instruction
• Supervision of student thesis projects
• Service to the department, school, university, and profession
