Job summary

Boise State University seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of English Teaching to begin August 2027. The candidate will teach undergraduate ELA methods courses and other offerings supporting the English Teaching major, while developing a research program in English education.

Qualifications

• PhD or EdD in English education, literacy education, curriculum and instruction with focus on ELA, literacy, or related field.
• Experience teaching English Language Arts in grades 6-12 in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate English Language Arts methods courses and related courses.
• Contribute to preparing future English educators and mentor preservice teachers.
• Maintain an active research program and engage in university, department, and professional service.
• Collaborate with schools, teachers, and community partners to strengthen ELA teaching.
