The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Electrical and Computer Engineering with an appointment to begin Fall 2027. Applicants in all areas of Electrical and Computer Engineering will be considered. The department is especially seeking applicants to teach courses and supervise design projects in areas such as electronics and semiconductor design, communications and RF systems, power and energy systems, robotics and control systems, artificial intelligence-enabled systems, and emerging fields in electrical and computer engineering.

Position

The primary responsibilities of the person in this position will include the development and teaching of introductory, core, and graduate courses in Electrical and Computer Engineering, as well as courses in their area(s) of specialization, and leading an active research program commensurate with the requirements for tenure and promotion. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to and participate in the life and development of the department, contribute to the assessment of Electrical and Computer Engineering programs, advise students, serve on committees, and participate in department, college, and university activities and governance.

Required Qualifications

• An earned Ph.D. with undergraduate and graduate degrees in electrical engineering or computer engineering.
• ABDs are welcome to apply but must show evidence that the degree will be completed by the time of appointment.
• Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, including laboratory courses.
• Ability and willingness to promote undergraduate and graduate student success through advising, co‑curricular activities and other high impact practices.
• Evidence of scholarly accomplishments and potential for continued research productivity.
• A focused research agenda with potential for external funding.
• Ability to balance excellent teaching, research, and service.
• Experience in working collaboratively with colleagues and the community.

Compensation

The Assistant Professor (Academic Year) classification salary range is $6,221 to $13,224 monthly (12 monthly payments per academic year). The anticipated hiring range is $8,680 to $8,854 per month.

Salary offered is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
