Job summary

The Carthage College Department of Education seeks an Assistant Professor of Education. This is a full‑time, benefits‑eligible contract (non‑tenure) position designed to support and expand innovative teacher preparation pathways.

The appointee will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in a hyflex format, contribute to licensure pathways, and participate in departmental leadership and service initiatives to prepare teachers for diverse populations.

Qualifications

• PhD or EdD in Education or related field (or substantial experience with a Master's).
• Expertise in one of: CCSE, Bilingual/Bicultural, or Early Childhood Education.
• P-12 teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses for education students and courses in a license area (e.g., CCSE, BL/BC, or Early Childhood).
• Teach graduate courses in a hyflex synchronous/asynchronous format as needed.
• Lead or contribute to program innovation in high-need certification areas.
• Participate in departmental service and program leadership initiatives.
