Job summary

Alcorn State University is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor of Computer Science to teach undergraduate CS courses and to contribute to curriculum development and scholarly activity. The role includes guidance to students, office hours, and department service, alongside ongoing work in teaching excellence and research. The candidate should hold a Ph.D.

in Computer Science (preferred) or a B.S. in CS or Mathematics, with a strong teaching and mentoring record.

• Provides guidance and supervision to students
• Creates and maintains an environment conducive to excellence in teaching, learning and research
• Preparation and formulation of curricula focused on his/her subject(s)
• Participates in departmental meetings and holds scheduled office hours
• Maintains equipment in the laboratory
• Makes arrangements for laboratory practical sessions, and provides materials to students
• Provides academic support to other faculty members
• Serves on departmental and University committees, as assigned
• Other related duties, as assigned
