Job summary

The University of Memphis Department of Computer Science invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position starting Fall 2027. Candidates in all CS areas are welcome, with particular interest in AI/ML (including computer vision, LLMs, robotics, AI-assisted software engineering, cybersecurity) and quantum computing.

Successful candidates will develop externally funded research programs and collaborate across Computer Science and beyond. Ph.D.

Qualified candidates in all areas of computer science are invited, while candidates with core expertise in AI/ML, including computer vision, deep fakes, LLMs, robotics, AI-assisted software engineering, and cybersecurity, as well as quantum computing are particularly encouraged to apply.

The University is a Carnegie R1 research university and successful candidates are expected to develop externally sponsored research programs and to lead or participate in collaborative research projects within Computer Science and beyond. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science, or a related discipline.
