Purpose of Job

The Assistant Professor of Chemistry will teach Chemistry courses (particularly biochemistry courses and labs).

Scope of Responsibilities

The Assistant Professor of Chemistry will teach chemistry courses, provide service to the department, school, and the University, upkeep instrumentation, and develop an active research program involving undergraduate students.

Essential Job Functions

Teach chemistry courses and labs by giving lectures and hands-on training
Create and deliver the syllabus to students
Assign and grade homework
Respond to questions
Arrange exams, including midterm and final exams
Report grades
Submit the grade book and other required documents to the department at the end of the semester
Write grant proposals
Develop an active research program involving undergraduate students
assess student learning
upkeep department instrumentation

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Chemistry (biochemistry preferred) from an accredited school.
