The Assistant Professor’s primary role is to teach in their areasof expertise, maintain the integrity of course andinstructional programs, and to ensure that their delivery is inalignment with the University mission and vision for thestudent experience. As such, faculty are responsible for creatingan academic atmosphere of mutual respect and considerationfor individual dignity. Faculty members may be asked to aid inthe development of curriculum in the residential and distanceeducation environments, as well as engage inresearch/scholarship or creative activity that varies dependingupon the expectations of their respective college or schooland any additional activities involving service to students andtheir professional discipline.
Faculty attain the rank of Assistant Professor based upon scholarlyand professional achievements. An earned doctoral degree or aterminal master’s degree at an accredited institution in an arearelevant to the faculty member’s area of teaching or aprofessional certificate (e.g., CPA) is preferred but notrequired.
Assistant Professors are contracted for 10, 11, or 12 months (30,33, or 36 load hours, respectively). Release from contractedteaching load is determined each semester by the Dean, per LibertyUniversity Faculty Handbook.

The actual compensation offered to the selected candidatemay vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which mayinclude the successful candidate's rank, contract length, skills,work experience, internal equity, market conditions,education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined bythe University.
