Qualifications

• MBA, JD, or related degree

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses within the business curriculum, including introductory, upper level, and MBA courses
• Develop course materials, learning activities, and assessments aligned with program outcomes
• Utilize effective teaching strategies in face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online formats; foster an inclusive and engaging classroom environment
• Advise and mentor undergraduate students on academic plans and career goals; monitor academic progress
• Participate in curriculum design, updates, and program assessment activities
• Engage in scholarly research, professional development, or disciplinary activities
• Participate in departmental, school, and university service activities; support recruitment and program development
• Contribute to initiatives that promote Business programs and engage in outreach and recruitment activities

Salary Range: $60,000.00 To $65,000.00 Annually

The Assistant Professor of Business is a full-time faculty position, responsible for delivering high-quality undergraduate instruction, advising students, and contributing to scholarship and service within the School of Business, Media, and Writing.

This role supports the continued growth and development of business programs through innovative teaching, experiential learning opportunities, and community engagement, while advancing student success and academic achievement.

Key Responsibilities and Expected Outcomes

Teaching and Instruction (Seven courses per academic year)

• Teach undergraduate courses within the business curriculum, depending on academic and professional background including introductory, upper level, and MBA courses
• Develop course materials, learning activities, and assessments aligned with program outcomes

• Students achieve course learning outcomes as measured by assessments

Course Delivery and Engagement

• Utilize effective teaching strategies in face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online formats
• Foster an inclusive and engaging classroom environment

3) Student Advising and Mentorship

• Advise and mentor undergraduate students on academic plans and career goals
• Ensure that students are making academic progress in their program

5) Curriculum Development and Assessment

• Participate in curriculum design, updates, and program assessment activities
• Align coursework with standards and best practices

• Curriculum updates completed on a regular review cycle with documented assessment improvements

6) Scholarship and Professional Development

• Engage in scholarly research, professional development, or disciplinary activities
• Maintain current knowledge in field

7) Service and Institutional Contribution

• Participate in departmental, school, and university service activities
