The Department of Natural Sciences serves a student body ranging from science majors to students taking science courses for their core curriculum. We offer the Bachelor of Science in Biology degree. The B.S. in Biology degree is a broad undergraduate degree which prepares students for the modern workplace, graduate school or pre‑professional schools (e.g., medical, dental, veterinary, pharmacy).
Middle Georgia State University is seeking a candidate for the position of tenure‑track Assistant Professor of Biology for the School of Health and Natural Sciences in the Department of Natural Sciences to begin fall 2026. This position involves teaching, scholarship, and service. Teaching responsibilities may include day and/or evening, lower‑level and/or upper‑level biology courses. Travel from Macon campus to another campus (Cochran) may be required.
This position involves teaching undergraduate courses and scholarship. All faculty are expected to assist in student recruitment, curriculum development, mentoring, and serving on departmental and university committees. Travel among our campuses will be required as needed. Teaching responsibilities may include day and/or evening classes, online and/or hybrid courses.
