Job Description:
- Teach courses including Human Anatomy and Physiology with laboratory components for nursing students, Medical Terminology, Human Physiology with laboratory, and general education biology classes. There may be opportunities to teach Animal Physiology or other biology courses, or to develop new courses.
- Perform faculty duties such as academic advising, supervising undergraduate research, and committee participation.
- Develop lectures, demonstrations, assignments, and enrichment activities to effectively deliver course content.
- Maintain regular office hours for student advising.
- Participate in departmental and university events, initiatives, and recruitment efforts.
- Support the Christian mission of the university by attending chapel, faculty meetings, and commencement.
- Serve as a role model and promote the discipline within and outside the campus.
- Engage with alumni and the community to foster relationships.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional organizations, and assist in recruiting new faculty members.
- Assist in scheduling, curriculum development, and resource planning.
- Support student success through ongoing evaluation and referrals to support services.
- Exhibit excellence in teaching and serve as an academic advisor.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Biology/Physiology preferred for the tenure-track Assistant Professor position.
- Alternatively, an M.S. in Biology/Physiology with undergraduate teaching experience is acceptable for an instructor rank.
