Job summary

Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Neuroscience within the Psychology department, starting Aug 16, 2027. The candidate will teach neuroscience and psychology courses and mentor undergraduates, while developing an active research program.

Ideal candidates will study neural mechanisms of cognition, perception, or behavior and may utilize EEG and/or TMS facilities.

Qualifications

• A Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Psychology, or a closely related field.
• At least one year experience teaching undergraduate students in relevant courses.
• Evidence of a research program focused on neural mechanisms that uses EEG and/or TMS.

Responsibilities

• Teach an equivalent to 9 credits each semester, typically three lecture sections (3 credits each).
• Develop a neuroscience research program involving undergraduates.
• Provide academic and career advising to 15–25 undergraduates annually.
• Support the department and university through service and citizenship.
• Engage in professional activities to enhance teaching and student experience.
