Job summary

  • Establish an independent, externally funded research program.
  • Mentor graduate students and postdocs and contribute to teaching as appropriate.

Job description

The Michigan Neuroscience Institute (MNI) at the University of Michigan invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor rank; highly qualified applicants at other ranks will also be considered.

We seek outstanding neuroscientists who apply genome- or brain-wide experimental and/or computational methods to address the complexity of the brain at high spatial or temporal resolution in any model system. We are especially interested in candidates developing or applying artificial intelligence and/or experimentally addressing human brain function or disease. Depending on scientific focus, the successful candidate’s research program may be housed within the state-of-the-art NeuroInnovation Center at the North Campus Research Complex (NCRC) or within other research units on the U-M campus.

The Michigan Neuroscience Institute is a newly expanded cross-campus institute that catalyzes interdisciplinary neuroscience research across 180 labs, 32 departments, and 7 schools at the University of Michigan. Candidate Qualifications & Application Process

Applicants must hold a PhD and/or MD degree and demonstrate a strong, sustained record of research accomplishment.

  • Curriculum Vitae: Full listing of academic accomplishments.
  • Research Statement (3 pages max): Describing past, current, and future research plans, specifically highlighting potential interdisciplinary collaborations within MNI. Teaching commitments will depend on the candidate's academic home department.
