Assistant Professor – Musicology (Tenure‑Track, Full‑time)

The University of California, Irvine, Department of Music invites applications for a full‑time, tenure‑track position in Musicology. Candidates should have a primary research specialization in European classical music before 1750, and one or more secondary research areas that complement and extend the department’s current faculty.

Salary Range: $89,900–$116,700. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. Off‑scale salaries and other components of pay, i.e., a salary that is higher than the published system‑wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.

• Experience mentoring students with diverse career goals both in and beyond the music field.
• Strong vision and potential for addressing teaching challenges faced by large public research universities, such as how to effectively design and teach large‑enrollment classes.
