Job summary

University of Missouri - Columbia's School of Music seeks a full-time, nine-month tenure-track Assistant Professor of Musicology to begin August 15, 2027. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, directing independent studies, and supervising master’s research.

Job Description

This is a full-time, nine-month tenure-track position.Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduatemusicology courses such as music history survey and graduateseminars; directing independent studies; supervising master’sstudent research and serving on graduate committees; supervisinggraduate student assistants in the musicology area; and otherstandard non-teaching duties such as departmental, university, andprofessional service. Expectations include publishing anddisseminating research through peer-reviewed publications andconference presentations and pursuing creative/scholarly activitiesrelated to areas of interest and expertise.

Qualifications

Completed Ph.D. in musicology by August 15, 2027 is required.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary and Benefits: Assistant Professor, tenure-track. Competitivesalary and benefits, commensurate with experience andqualifications. Appointment begins August 15, 2027.
