Job summary

The Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research, together with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge, Massachusetts), invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor level, beginning July 1, 2027, or later, by mutual agreement.

We seek MD or PhD candidates across biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or related fields who will develop an independent research program and contribute to teaching undergraduate and/or

Qualifications

• MD or PhD required by start of employment.
• Candidates should pursue innovative approaches to fundamental problems in molecular, cellular, or organismal biology.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead an independent, vibrant research program in the life sciences.
• Develop and teach undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses.
• Supervise graduate and undergraduate research and mentor trainees from diverse backgrounds.
