The Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research, in collaboration with MIT, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning July 1, 2027 or later.

We seek candidates with an MD or PhD in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or related fields who will pursue innovative approaches to fundamental problems in molecular, cellular, or organismal biology.

Qualifications

• MD or PhD in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or related fields (required by start of employment)
• Ability to lead an independent, vibrant research program and to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses
• Commitment to supervising graduate and undergraduate research and mentoring diverse trainees

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead an independent research program in the life sciences
