Job description

This position is a nine-month, full-time, online, non-tenured, promotion-eligible position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Instruct a teaching load of four graduate-level courses per online term during the Fall and Spring semesters in the area of library media education.
  • Teach other professional courses as needed.
  • Fulfill other faculty responsibilities, including conducting scholarly research and participating in University and community service, and service to local schools.
  • Perform other tasks as required by the appropriate administrators.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Earned doctorate in Library Media or in a related field with at least 18 graduate hours in the field.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, faculty, administration, and public school personnel.
  • Commitment to quality teaching.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in applying technology to teaching.
  • Successful teaching experience in an online environment.

Desired:

  • Evidence of scholarly research and grant writing.
  • Successful teaching experience at the collegiate level.
  • Recent success in teaching within a P-12 setting.
