Northwestern University’s School of Education and Social Policy invites applications for an assistant professor in the Learning Sciences program. The position aims to advance understanding of cognition and learning across contexts and to maintain a rigorous externally funded research program.

We seek candidates who can teach undergraduate and graduate students and apply quantitative, qualitative, or computational methods.

Qualifications

• Ability to teach and advise both undergraduate and graduate students.
• Expertise in cognition and learning with theoretical and empirical depth.
• Experience with quantitative and/or qualitative methods; computational approaches welcome.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an externally funded research program on cognition and learning.
• Teach broad survey courses related to conceptual development and knowledge representations.
• Advise undergraduate Learning Sciences majors and graduate students.
