The Department of Psychological Sciences in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Connecticut invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Residence, non-tenure track, at the Stamford Campus, to begin in the Fall of 2025.
The University of Connecticut is ranked among the top 30 public universities in the country. The Department of Psychological Sciences is committed to excellence in undergraduate and graduate education. UConn Stamford is an urban campus at the center of one of Fairfield County’s robust business communities, just 45 minutes from New York, which gives students ample opportunities for internships and careers. The campus serves 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students, including many first-generation college students. It offers 15 undergraduate majors, including Psychological Sciences, Sociology, Digital Media and Design, and Communication. The candidate for this position will join three full-time Psychological Science faculty at the Stamford campus.
The successful candidate should engage with the unique opportunities provided by the Stamford campus, but will also have opportunities to interact with colleagues at all University of Connecticut campuses. Candidates with a background and teaching experience in different fields are welcome to apply. We especially encourage candidates with experience in Clinical Psychology, Industrial/Organizational, or Cognitive Psychology to apply. Experience and/or willingness to teach research methods is a must. The successful candidate will teach seven undergraduate courses per academic year and work closely with the Psychological Sciences Undergraduate Advising Office in maintaining a caseload of advisees. The successful candidate may elect opportunities to engage in local, departmental, or university-wide service.
The successful candidate will provide a teaching portfolio for review that demonstrates expertise in instructing a diverse range of undergraduate students utilizing active and inclusive pedagogical practices and evidence of academic/career advising of undergraduate students.
