Description

The Boston College Political Science Department seeks to hire an assistant professor for a full‑time, tenure‑track position in American public law starting in late August 2027. We are looking for someone with a deep knowledge of law and courts who studies these topics within the broader political and institutional context. The person who fills this position will be expected to teach at least one undergraduate course on constitutional law, but will be free to teach other courses on legal topics or on American political thought at the undergraduate or graduate level. We expect candidates to have their PhD in hand no later than the summer of 2027.

The expected 9‑month base salary range (paid over 12 months) for this position is $104,000–$110,000. The actual pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as, but not limited to, candidate qualifications and prior experience, scope of responsibilities, internal equity, and market considerations.
