Assistant Professor I, NCLEX Success

The target hiring range for this position is $80,000-$87,000.

Position Summary:

The Assistant Professor for NCLEX Success facilitates NCLEX and HESI preparation for distance education learners in the PN, ASN, and BSN programs, as well as graduates. The role involves incorporating innovative teaching methodologies, technology, and industry trends to promote interdisciplinary nursing education and healthcare delivery. The incumbent is responsible for delivering the nursing curriculum aligned with the Program's mission, vision, and values, and supporting learners through personalized coaching to ensure NCLEX success, including identifying learning needs, testing strategies, and monitoring progress.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Support and prepare learners for NCLEX success through meaningful interactions and customized learning plans, especially for at-risk students.
  • Maintain open communication, monitor progress, and engage with learners throughout the coaching process.
  • Develop and facilitate study sessions and one-on-one coaching.
  • Conduct evaluations for learners and graduates, and make recommendations for transcript clearance.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and shared decision-making activities.
  • Contribute to the implementation of functional projects as needed.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • Graduate degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Unencumbered RN or APRN license, with the ability to obtain licensure in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) credential or commitment to obtain within one year.
  • Current knowledge in nursing practice areas and proficiency in online nursing education delivery.
  • Experience with concept-based nursing education preferred.
  • Proficiency in LMS platforms (Canvas preferred), Microsoft Office, and related technologies.
  • Availability to perform responsibilities during three academic semesters annually.

Note: All new hires must attend New Collaborator Orientation in Salt Lake City, Utah, with travel and lodging paid by the College.
