Qualifications

Ph.D. in Geography, GIS, Statistics, or related field; must be conferred before hire date.
Expertise in spatial statistics or spatial modeling and data science/ML/AI applied to geospatial data.
Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses and to teach ML/AI methods to social science students.
Proficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis and reproducible workflows.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Spatial Statistics and related quantitative-methods topics.
Supervise and mentor MA and PhD students; support undergraduate research.
Develop an active research program and publish in peer-reviewed venues.
Seek extramural funding and support student training.
Provide service to the department, college, university, and community.
