Job summary

Emory is seeking a Board Certified General Surgeon to join the Division of General and Gastrointestinal Surgery at the Emory Critical Care Center. The role includes supervision and clinical education of residents, teaching Emory students, and contributing to call coverage at the EUH campus.

Candidates must hold a valid Georgia medical license and DEA registration. Fellowship in trauma, critical care, or acute care surgery is a plus.

Qualifications

• Board certified in general surgery.
• Fellowship in trauma, critical care, or acute care surgery is favorable.
• Valid, unrestricted Georgia medical license.
• DEA registration required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as surgeon in the Division of General and Gastrointestinal Surgery at the Emory Critical Care Center (ECCC).
• Supervise and provide clinical education, training and development of residents.
• Teach and provide leadership to Emory students and trainees.
• Participate in on-call with general and emergency general surgery at the EUH campus.
• Develop academic portfolio in alignment with SOM goals.
• Participate in hospital and health system quality initiatives and relevant committees.

Requirements

• Board Certified General Surgeon
• While not a requirement, additional fellowship training in trauma, critical care or an accredited acute care surgery fellowship will be considered favorably
• A valid, unrestricted medical license to practice medicine in the State of Georgia
• A controlled Substance Registration Drug Enforcement Administration Certificate
