Job description

The Department of Communication at the University of Arizona, invites applications for a tenure-eligible Assistant Professor position starting in Fall 2027. Successful candidates will take a social scientific approach to their research using quantitative and/or qualitative methods. We seek candidates who will:

• (a) contribute to the department’s research mission in communication, with an active program of research in an area that complements existing department strengths in health, technology, interpersonal, organizational/group, intercultural/intergroup, political, social influence, or mass communication;
• (b) contribute to the department's undergraduate teaching mission in public relations and strategic communication by offering courses such as PR Ethics and Law, PR Research Methods, PR Writing, PR Campaigns, Crisis Communication, or Nonprofit PR, as well as offering additional PR courses in their area of expertise;
• (c) contribute to the department's graduate program in communication by advising graduate students in their area of specialty at the MA and PhD levels and by offering graduate-level communication courses.
