The College of Education (COE) at Gardner-Webb University seeks a strong candidate for a tenure-track faculty position teaching curriculum and instruction in Exceptional Children's/special education. The 9-month tenure-track position will start on August 1, 2025.
Required Qualifications
- An earned doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialty in Special Education/Exceptional Children/ or a related field and a strong record of scholarly research and/or K-12 leadership experience
- Demonstrate knowledge of school district-level special education, exceptional child, reading, and literacy practices
- Served in public K-12 setting
Preferred Qualifications
- A research/scholarship portfolio in K-12 curriculum and instruction, reading, literacy, academically gifted or related K-12 experience
- Science of Reading Certification or eligibility for the Science of Reading Certificate
- Experience with online and hybrid teaching and course development
- Experience with university teaching
- Served in public K-12 leadership roles as a school or central office personnel
Teaching, Research, and Service Assignments
- Teach 12 credit hours per semester
- Teach exceptional children’s courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels
- Provide service to the College of Education, University, community, and academic profession
- Supervise student teachers
- Conduct research and scholarly activities to enhance the COE academic climate
