Job summary

UTMB Faculty Group Practice seeks an otolaryngologist to participate in teaching activities, supervise residents, and provide patient care across operating rooms, clinics, and inpatient services. The role includes scholarly activity and service on departmental and health system committees.

The provider will be deployed at Brittany Bay Clinic for 2½–3 days and will perform surgical services at the League City Campus, contributing to education and patient care within UTMB Health.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical school.
• Completed ACGME otolaryngology residency with training in laryngology.
• Board eligible or certified in Otolaryngology and eligible for Texas medical license without restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all teaching activities of the Department, including conferences and lectures.
• Supervise residents and house staff in operating rooms, clinics, and inpatient services; provide medical direction and serve on committees.
• Engage in scholarly and research activities and publish scientific articles.
• Deploy to Brittany Bay Clinic for 2½–3 days and provide surgical services at League City Campus.

Job description

Essential Job Functions

The candidate will participate in all teaching activities of the Department, including conferences and lectures, with teaching and funds; house staff supervision in the operating room, clinics, and inpatient services; continuing medical education; and local, regional, and national meetings. Students include medical students, house staff, and allied health students. They are also responsible for advancing clinical knowledge through scholarly and research efforts and will participate in either basic or clinical research and publication of scientific articles. In addition, the person in this position will have administrative responsibilities, including supervising and evaluating residents, providing medical direction, and serving on committees at the department and Health System levels. This provider will be deployed at Brittany Bay Clinic for 2 ½‑3 days and will provide surgical services at the League City Campus.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidate should be a graduate of an accredited medical school, have completed an ACGME approved residency training program in otolaryngology, with training and interest in laryngology, be Certified/Board Eligible in Otolaryngology and be eligible for or have a Texas Medical License without restrictions.

Salary

Commensurate with experience.
