Job summary

Massachusetts Institute of Technology seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor bridging chemistry with computational, machine-learning, or generative AI approaches. The appointment is shared with SCC and may be in EECS or IDSS, depending on fit.

Strong candidates will integrate AI-enabled experimentation with chemistry research across molecular, materials, biomolecular, and reaction discovery domains. Applicants must have a Ph.D.

Qualifications

• PhD in chemistry or closely related field by start of employment.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Chemistry and SCC programs, including computation and ML topics.
• Supervise graduate and undergraduate research projects.
• Mentor trainees at all levels.
• Develop and lead an independent, funded research program.
