Position Overview

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Texas Medical Branch is seeking a faculty member in Pediatric Infectious Disease. The primary responsibilities include clinical service, supervision and teaching of medical students and residents. Current faculty activities encompass:

1. Clinical service at two hospitals (inpatient) and two clinics (outpatient), including participation in the Maternal-Child HIV program and Travel Medicine Program.
2. Research in respiratory viruses, bronchiolitis, asthma pathogenesis, and industry-funded clinical trials.
3. Educational activities involving medical students, pediatric residents, and research post-doctoral fellows.

This position also serves as the Director of Pediatric Antimicrobial Stewardship for children’s services.

Minimum Qualifications

• MD degree
• Residency in Pediatrics
• Fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Disease
• Board certification in Pediatrics
• Board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Infectious Disease
