Job summary

LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans seeks a board certified/eligible physician in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine to join our faculty at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (non-tenure, clinical track). You will practice at UMCNO, working in the ICU and outpatient pulmonary clinic, with possible inpatient consults.

Emphasis on teaching, patient care, and research integrity. Academic appointment will be commensurate with achievement.

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent required.
• ABIM board eligible/certified in Pulmonary and/or Critical Care; licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana prior to start date.
• Fellowship in Pulmonary/Critical Care preferred with interest in CVS/ICU

Responsibilities

• Practice at University Medical Center – New Orleans (UMCNO) and work in the ICU as well as the outpatient pulmonary clinic.
• Inpatient pulmonary consultation possible.
• Demonstrates commitment to teaching, patient care, and research integrity while contributing to a collaborative academic environment.

Job Summary/Basic Functions

The LSU Health Sciences Center, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care in New Orleans, seeks a board certified / board eligible physician in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine to join our faculty at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (non-tenure, clinical track). This faculty member will practice at University Medical Center – New Orleans (UMCNO) and will work in the ICU as well as the outpatient pulmonary clinic. Work as an inpatient pulmonary consultant is also possible. In all care areas, the successful candidate will maintain excellence in patient care, teaching, and research integrity. Academic appointment will be commensurate with professional achievement. Current trainees or junior faculty with an excellent track record of inpatient and outpatient care proficiency are strongly encouraged to apply. Our group thrives on collaboration and looks forward to adding another team-oriented faculty member to our outstanding academic faculty group practice.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education: MD or equivalent

Certifications or Licenses Required: ABIM board eligible/certified (or equivalent) in Pulmonary and/or Critical Care; licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana and credentialed with all required entities prior to start date.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience: Pulmonary/Critical Care fellowship with interest in CVS/ICU
