Job summary

The College of Indigenous Studies at the University of Alaska Fairbanks invites applications for a tripartite faculty position focused on teaching, research, and service in support of Alaska’s rural and Indigenous communities.

This position emphasizes distance education, mentoring students, and partnerships with Tribal, nonprofit, and governmental organizations to advance community-engaged rural development across the state.

Qualifications

• Experience in rural Alaska Native or Indigenous community development.
• Ability to teach distance education courses and guide student research.
• Experience with community-engaged learning and partnerships with tribal and governmental organizations.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Alaska Native Studies and Rural Development.
• Supervise student research and mentor across programs.
• Engage in service, scholarship, and partnerships supporting rural development in Alaska.
