Qualifications

• PhD in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, or a closely related field by the time of appointment.
• Ability to teach and develop courses in synoptic-dynamics, forecasting, and mesoscale and/or in candidate’s area of expertise at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Demonstrated research experience directly relevant to candidate’s expertise and specialization.
• Applicants should demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a socially and economically diverse student population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching, and other comparable experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in synoptic meteorology, forecasting, and related areas.
• Conduct research, publish in peer‑reviewed journals, generate grants, and supervise student research.
• Participate in department, college, and university committees and service assignments.
• Organize all classes within the Canvas LMS and strive for inclusive course materials and teaching strategies.
