Job summary

Texas A&M AgriLife Research in Temple, TX invites applications for an Assistant Professor - AI in Agriculture. This 12-month, non-tenure-track faculty position is based at the Blackland Research and Extension Center and affiliated with a Texas A&M University department.

The successful candidate will develop a nationally recognized AI in agriculture research program, collaborate across Texas A&M system agencies, publish in peer‑reviewed journals, supervise students, and seek external funding.

Qualifications

• PhD in AI, Data Science or related field by hire date.
• Strong background in AI, machine learning and data analytics for agriculture.
• Proficiency in Python, R, Java, or C++, with ML frameworks.
• Evidence of peer-reviewed publications and funded research potential.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead an externally funded AI in agriculture research program.
• Supervise postdocs and student researchers; publish results in journals.
• Collaborate with faculty, industry and stakeholders for applicable research.
• Build institutional capacity for AI across the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
