Job Description

The Department of Mechanical & Facilities Engineering at Maritime College, State University of New York, is seeking to fill a Mechanical Engineering faculty position. The program is accredited by ABET and focuses on applied mechanics. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to:

  • Teach core engineering and applied mechanics courses for mechanical engineering majors in a collaborative, team-based environment.
  • Conduct applied research in engineering or other scholarly areas.
Qualifications
  • A reasonable expectation of timely completion of a Ph.D.
  • Practical industrial or research experience, especially marine industrial experience, is highly desirable.
  • Experience with introductory engineering courses.
  • Professional Engineering license or USCG license as a marine engineering officer is preferred.
Additional Information

This is a 10-month, tenure-track faculty position with an anticipated salary of $85,000 - $95,000, depending on experience. It includes a comprehensive benefits package. The position is subject to budget approval and is open for immediate review of applications.
