Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Professor for HPER (Health, Physical Education, and Recreation) to conduct classes, guide students, and develop curricula focused on excellence in teaching and research.

The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in a relevant field and have a minimum of three years’ experience in higher education. Responsibilities also include coordinating the Sports Management Program and engaging in departmental meetings.

Job Title

Essential Job Functions

• Conducts a requisite number of classes/Teaches assignedsubjects
• Provides guidance and supervision to students
• Creates and maintains an environment conducive to excellence inteaching, learning, and research
• Preparation and formulation of curricula focused on his/hersubject(s)
• Participates in departmental meetings and holds scheduledoffice hours
• Maintains equipment in the laboratory, makes arrangements forlaboratory practical sessions, and provides materials tostudents
• Provides academic support to other faculty members
• Serves on departmental and University committees, asassigned

• Coordinates (or assists with the coordination of) the SportsManagement Program
• Other related duties, as assigned

Qualifications

• Doctor of Philosophy in Health, Physical Education, Recreation,Sports Management, or related discipline
• Published works preferred
• Three (3) years' experience in higher education
