Job Description

The Prentiss Lee Faulconer Jr. Department of Accountancy & Legal Environment at Marshall University is seeking an assistant professor for a nine-month tenure track appointment beginning Fall 2027 semester, with preference given to candidates who can begin Spring 2027 semester. The position will include teaching responsibilities at the undergraduate and graduate levels, with a willingness to work with DBA students. The primary need is in financial accounting, but applicants from all areas of accounting are welcome to apply. Candidates must possess the interest and/or demonstrated ability to teach using face-to-face, online, and hyflex delivery methods. Successful candidates need to demonstrate effective teaching ability, a potential for research that produces publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journals, and a commitment to participating in department, college, and university service. Education

• Completed doctoral dissertation and defense; Terminal degree from AACSB-accredited institution.
• Earned Doctorate in Accounting or Business Administration with an Accounting concentration (Ph.D or DBA) Program from an AACSB-accredited institution. ABD candidates will be considered.

Required Experience

• Experience teaching accounting courses at a university level, with demonstrated above-average teaching ability and quality scholarly research.

Preferred Experience

• CPA and significant professional accounting work experience will be a plus; Research published in ABDC-ranked publications; Demonstrated potential to advance the missions of the department, college, and university, including key areas of distinction.
