Job summary

Madewell is seeking an Assistant Production Manager to support the development and production of handbags, jewelry and accessories at our New York headquarters. The role involves tracking approvals, managing lab dips, and coordinating with vendors to ensure timely information flow and prototype readiness.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree, strong garment knowledge, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of related field experience preferred.
  • Basic garment knowledge required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support development and production process for handbags, jewelry and accessories.
  • Track product approvals and lab dip submissions for timely transfer of information.
  • Assist in collecting time and action information to follow the product development calendar.
  • Monitor vendor work in process and shipping exceptions under supervision.
  • Follow up with vendors on product specifics and updates.
  • Communicate with related departments to ensure consistency with style profiles.
  • Present prototype samples to customs officials for line review and approval.
  • Maintain Development and Production reports with all dates for in-season accuracy.
