Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production floor operations to meet safety, quality, delivery and productivity goals.
• Utilize the MRP system to coordinate customer requirements, planning, inventory, and scheduling.
• Monitor production progress and machine utilization to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Work closely with customers regarding requirements, delivery schedules, and order status.
• Troubleshoot basic processing and production issues and coordinate with appropriate personnel to resolve problems.
• Coordinate routine preventative maintenance and ensure machinery remains in good operating condition.
• Support and train employees, including cross-training as needed.
• Take on additional operational responsibilities based on experience and company needs.

We are seeking a versatile, hands-on, experienced manager to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for supporting daily production operations, scheduling, customer communication, and overall manufacturing efficiency. The ideal candidate is someone who can move comfortably between the production floor, planning and scheduling, customer requirements, and administrative responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support daily production floor operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals.
• Utilize the MRP system to coordinate customer requirements, production planning, inventory, and scheduling.
• Monitor production progress and machine utilization to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime and scrap.
• Work closely with customers regarding requirements, delivery schedules, order status, and other production-related needs.
• Troubleshoot basic processing and production issues and coordinate with appropriate personnel to resolve problems.
• Coordinate routine preventative maintenance and help ensure machinery and equipment remain in good operating condition.
• Support and maintain the company's ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, including procedures, documentation, records, and compliance requirements.
• Work closely with Manufacturing Team to ensure established quality and production processes are followed.
• Assist with employee training, cross-training, and development as needed.
• Take on additional operational responsibilities based on experience, capabilities, and the needs of the company.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing or supervising production operations within a manufacturing environment.
• MRP experience with the ability to manage and effectively utilize an MRP system for production planning, scheduling, inventory, and customer requirements.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems, including quality procedures, documentation, internal audits, and compliance requirements, with the ability to effectively manage and maintain the system.
• Strong working knowledge of plastic extrusion processes preferred.
• Ability to understand production requirements, prioritize competing demands, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, management, customers, and vendors.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a management team.
