Job description

General Purpose:AssistantProduction Manager is involved with the planning, coordination and control of manufacturing processes. They ensure that goods and services are produced efficiently and that the correct amount is produced at the right cost and level of quality.

TheAssistantProduction Manager is also responsible for the oversight and training programs for all Operations Team Members. TheAssistantProduction Manager is accountable for; a mentor for the Supervisory Team Members and a liaison or spoke person responsible for cross-functional communication across several departments internal and external to the facility.

Description of Duties:

  • Review the production schedule weekly and suggest changes to improve productivity or reduce waste.
  • Use lean methodologies and tools to optimize production processes and reduce waste.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless production workflow integration.
  • Monitor production metrics and analyze data to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead training sessions on new technologies and methodologies for production staff.
  • Oversee quality control processes to maintain high standards and compliance.
  • Facilitate agile methodologies to enhance production efficiency and team responsiveness.
  • Manage remote collaboration tools to support distributed production teams effectively.
  • Develop strategic plans to align production goals with company objectives.
  • Mentor junior staff, fostering a culture of growth and innovation.
  • Utilize automation technologies to streamline repetitive production tasks.
  • Estimating costs and labor standards while monitoring the quality standards for each product.
  • Monitor product standards and implement controls to ensure product consistency.
  • Support HSE initiatives and enforce guidelines.
  • Develop and document operational procedures and ensure compliance across all shifts.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of your direct reports and ensure your supervisors are completing the remaining team members reviews are completed on time.
