ExcelliSearch, Inc. in Columbus, OH seeks an Assistant Production Manager to direct and evaluate the Production department, supervise staff, and ensure safety and quality in daily operations.

You will train personnel, plan and assign work, address concerns, and monitor performance to meet schedule goals and maintain product standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or high school diploma or equivalent.
• Four years of manufacturing experience.
• Two or more years of supervision experience.

Responsibilities

• Directs production activities to meet or exceed requirements.
• Determines manufacturing priorities based on production schedules.
• Interprets specifications and judges acceptability of in-process production.
• Implements safety programs to ensure worker safety.
• Assures product quality.
• Assists individuals in problem solving and exercises judgment.
• Directs routine equipment maintenance and setup.
• Coordinates activities with other supervisory personnel in the plant.
• Reports machine and equipment malfunctions and takes corrective action.
• Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications.
• Follows production schedules and estimates work hour requirements.
• Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Recommends improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists in solving work problems.

Job description

The Assistant Production Manager is responsible for the direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Production department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies. Responsibilities include training individuals; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining individuals; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

• Supervises production activities to ensure that manufactured products meet or exceed all requirements.
• Determines manufacturing priorities based on established production schedules.
• Interprets specifications and makes judgment about the acceptability of production that is in process.
• Implements safety programs to ensure the safety of individuals working in the area.
• Assures product quality.
• Assists individuals in problem solving and exercises considerable judgment.
