Albertsons Companies is seeking an Assistant Produce Department Manager to oversee daily Produce Department operations with a focus on freshness, presentation, and customer service.

You will drive sales through merchandising, inventory control, and strong leadership, coaching, and training of associates in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations of the Produce Department focusing on freshness, quality, and customer service.
Deliver knowledgeable, friendly service and ensure associates demonstrate strong product knowledge.
Execute merchandising programs, planograms, seasonal sets, and promotional displays.
Maintain full, fresh, clean, and visually appealing produce displays at all times.
Manage product rotation and remove damaged items while maintaining freshness standards.
Order, receive, inspect, and store product following food safety and rotation guidelines.
Manage shrink through inventory controls and waste-reduction strategies.
Build and manage labor schedules aligned with business needs.
Train, coach, and develop produce associates while maintaining a positive team environment.
Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and company standards.

Main Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations of the Produce Department with a focus on freshness, quality, and customer service

Execute corporate merchandising programs, planograms, seasonal sets, and promotional displays
Maintain full, fresh, clean, and visually appealing produce displays at all times
Manage product rotation, remove damaged or unsellable items, and maintain freshness standards
Order, receive, inspect, and store product following food safety and rotation guidelines
Manage shrink through inventory controls, root‑cause identification, and waste‑reduction strategies
Build and manage labor schedules aligned with business needs
Train, coach, and develop produce associates while maintaining a positive team environment
Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and company operational standards
