Job summary

Albertsons Companies is seeking an Assistant Produce Department Manager to oversee daily Produce Department operations with a focus on freshness, presentation, and customer service.

You will drive sales through merchandising, inventory control, and strong leadership, coaching, and training of associates in a fast-paced retail environment.

  • Oversee daily operations of the Produce Department focusing on freshness, quality, and customer service.
  • Deliver knowledgeable, friendly service and ensure associates demonstrate strong product knowledge.
  • Execute merchandising programs, planograms, seasonal sets, and promotional displays.
  • Maintain full, fresh, clean, and visually appealing produce displays at all times.
  • Manage product rotation and remove damaged items while maintaining freshness standards.
  • Order, receive, inspect, and store product following food safety and rotation guidelines.
  • Manage shrink through inventory controls and waste-reduction strategies.
  • Build and manage labor schedules aligned with business needs.
  • Train, coach, and develop produce associates while maintaining a positive team environment.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and company standards.
