Qualifications

• Master’s Degree is required.
• Training in Administration is required.
• Massachusetts Certification in Principal/Assistant Principal; PreK-6 or 5-8 is required.
• At least five (5) years of documented, successful school experience.

Responsibilities

• To execute duties as assigned by the Principal.
• To assist the Principal in establishing and maintaining an effective learning climate in the school.
• To develop standards of conduct and action for the school with respect to student behavior.
• To orient newly assigned teachers and other staff members and assist in their development.
• To assist in development, revision, and monitoring of the instructional program.
• To publicize school programs and events.
• To attend all public functions of the school.
• To act in place of the Principal in his/her absence.
• To lead curriculum review, development and adaptation.
• To consult with teachers on instructional problems and assist in improving classroom performance.
• To provide staff development opportunities for teachers and other staff.
• To coordinate the components of the instructional program.
• Other duties as assigned.
