Job summary

YES Prep is seeking an Assistant Principal in Houston, TX to lead instructional quality and student achievement across a campus. The role focuses on coaching teachers, guiding intervention programs, and ensuring data-driven decision making while strengthening family engagement and a positive campus culture.

The position is 11-month, with compensation starting at $71,500 annually, and requires strong leadership, collaboration, and commitment to YES Prep’s mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required and teaching certification preferred.
• Minimum instructional leadership and teaching experience specified in the role.
• Experience in administration or supervision is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee student achievement progress for teachers and use assessment data to improve instruction.
• Coach campus Interventionists and leaders delivering targeted support.
• Observe classrooms and provide feedback to teachers to improve instruction.
• Lead RTI, case management, and planning to sustain strong academic mindset.
• Coordinate professional development days and in-service activities.
• Manage campus testing responsibilities with accuracy.
• Foster positive school culture and partner with families and staff.
• Develop and execute intervention programs to reduce barriers to achievement.
• Ensure effective behavior systems and parental communication.
• Lead family engagement and community relations.
