Bastrop ISD - Assistant Principal, Elementary

Campus Description: Bluebonnet Elementary School is one of eight elementary schools in Bastrop ISD. We are located on FM 1209 just north of Highway 71. We opened our doors in August 2004 and today, we serve approximately 750 students each year in grades Pre-K through 5th. Bluebonnet Elementary receives federal funds through the Title 1 program based on the number of enrolled students who qualify for the free- and reduced-price meal program.

Description/Notes: BASIC FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITY: Provide administrative support and instructional leadership to ensure a safe environment in which student learning is accomplished and demonstrated.

Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of acceptable public education leadership principles and techniques. Knowledge of acceptable instructional practices and principles.
Knowledge of Texas Education Agency rules, regulations, and procedures.
Knowledge of University Interscholastic League (UIL) rules and regulations.
Knowledge of acceptable school finance and budget practices and principles.
Knowledge of acceptable human resource/supervisory practices and principles.
Skill in directing the work of others.
Skill in communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Skill in analyzing complex information.
Skill in operating standard computer and software applications, including but not limited to electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations.

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of classroom teaching experience and demonstrated leadership roles at the campus/district level required

Qualifications: Education/Certification:
Master’s degree from an accredited university in educational administration or a directly related field or be currently enrolled in a program leading to a Master’s degree in educational administration or a directly related field required Texas Principal Certification, One-Year Texas Principal Certification, Texas Mid-Management Certification, or have passed the Texas Principal Exam and be eligible for certification required Certified
T-TESS appraiser preferred
AED training preferred

Salary Range: Assistant Principal, Elementary - A5
212 Days: $68,297.80 - $102,355.91 per year
