QUALIFICATIONS:



  • 1. Master’s Degree or higher, Doctorate preferred, in educational administration or other applicable discipline.

  • 2. Pennsylvania Department of Education Principal Certification.

  • 3. At least five years experience in public school administration and supervision, preferred.

  • 4. At least five years successful experience as a classroom teacher.

  • 5. Such alternatives to the above as the Superintendent or designee may find appropriate or acceptable.


REPORTS TO:Superintendent and/or designee


SUPERVISES:Assist in supervision of all personnel assigned to the school.


JOB GOALS:Promote the educational well-being of each student and staff member in the school by creating and maintaining a safe, pleasant, motivational, and productive environment in which to work and learn.


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Instructional Leadership

    • Support the implementation of building-level instructional programs, assessment practices, and school improvement initiatives.

    • Coordinate and oversee building testing programs, including Keystones, AP, SAT/PSAT, ASVAB, and other assessments.

    • Support student support processes through participation in IEP meetings and collaboration with instructional and support staff.



  • Staff Supervision and Development

    • Assist in the supervision and evaluation of professional and support staff in accordance with district procedures and evaluation requirements.

    • Support staff communication and organizational effectiveness through the coordination of meetings, schedules, and assigned activities.

    • Collaborate with staff and administration to promote a positive, professional, and supportive school environment.



  • Student Services and School Culture

    • Oversee student discipline and implement building-level student management procedures in alignment with district policies and expectations.

    • Monitor and promote student attendance through intervention, communication, and follow-up processes.

    • Collaborate with staff, students, and families to support student academic, behavioral, social, and emotional success.

    • Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive school culture for students and staff.

    • Support the implementation of building safety and security procedures and protocols.



  • Operations and Organizational Management

    • Assist with the coordination and supervision of daily building operations and administrative functions.

    • Schedule and attend staff meetings, student group meetings, and other assigned activities and events.

    • Support organizational systems and operational procedures to ensure efficient building management.

    • Maintain visibility throughout the school building and at school-sponsored activities and events as assigned.



  • Family, Community, and District Relations

    • Maintain positive and collaborative relationships with students, families, staff, and community stakeholders.

    • Communicate effectively with families and staff regarding student attendance, discipline, support services, and school expectations.

    • Collaborate with district and building administrators to support school goals, initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.

    • Represent the school in meetings, activities, and professional setting as assigned.

LANGUAGE SKILLS


  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
